National Day of Prayer

May 1, 2025

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance in the United States, set aside for people of all faiths to come together and pray for the nation. Held on the first Thursday of May, it encourages citizens to pray for government leaders, communities, and the nation’s well-being.

For Christians, this day holds particular significance as it provides an opportunity to unite in prayer, seek God's guidance, and ask for divine intervention in the broken parts of our nation and world. Participating in prayer opportunities is how we live out the priority statement that "prayer is our language" and we invite you to engage in one of the following ways:

- Be reminded of the importance of prayer in your everyday life and find ways to incorporate it into the rhythms of your everyday

- Be encouraged that there is collective power of God's people praying together for the common good. We have a prayer group that meets onsite at Commission Church each Saturday morning from 7:30 - 9:00 am that you are welcome to attend.

- Be empowered to connect to other local opportunities for prayer through the Claremont Healing Rooms or events listed on https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/
