What is Prayer?

We believe that prayer is communication with God flowing from relationship with Christ Jesus leading to action empowered by the Holy Spirit.

At Commission Church, we believe that Prayer is our Language. Prayer is what Christians speak and do. Prayer is our very breath of life. Prayer is what God initiated through speaking forth creation and inspiring His Word. Prayer is what Jesus modeled at every point of His life and ministry, and what He taught His disciples to do. Prayer is what the early church was built upon and continued to do every day together. Prayer is what God’s people are called to do in every situation, for all people, and without ceasing. And when we pray, we experience change, breakthrough, hope, peace, provision, healing, miracles, and God’s Presence. When we pray, we speak to the world around us that we have a Good Father who reigns, provides, heals, forgives, leads, listens, speaks, saves, redeems, and gives to those who ask.
